Have you ever been so passionate about something, yet so fearful at the same time? I was, before I started this blog, and still am quite frankly. Don't get me wrong, when I look at where I was a year ago compared to now, I'm pretty proud of myself.
This eighties girl had a lot to learn about everything! I knew nothing about how to even create a blog, but I knew this was something I wanted to do, so I made the decision to jump in with both feet, kick fear to the curb, momentarily, and "fake it til I make it"!
Here are some of things I had to overcome, and some links on how to move forward without fear.
1. My age. Who starts a fashion blog at 45? Um.... I do! (here's a great book to read if you're in the same boat).
2. Technology. aaaaaaah! Even the word gives me anxiety! I have learned so much from so many different people over this past year. Here's my tip if you are technologically challenged: Surround yourself with people who are not, and don't be afraid to ask for help.
3. Comparison. I still struggle with comparing myself to other bloggers, which is not a healthy thing to do by the way, and completely takes the joy out what you are doing. I realized that there is really no reason to compare yourself to others because we all have a unique voice.
4. Fear. Fear of success, and fear of failure. Fear and faith cannot exist together, so when that self doubt starts creeping in, just look in the mirror, and tell yourself, "you got this"!
What do you do to conquer fear? I would love to hear from you.
The hubby and I are heading to Minneapolis tomorrow for the weekend to attend a fancy charity event. If you have nothing to do follow along with me on Instagram.
Have a great weekend!!
