I don't know about you, but I love, love, love getting all dolled up for a fancy party. Last month I had the amazing opportunity to attend The Starkey Hearing Foundation's annual Gala weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota. The event started off with a cocktail party at the founders home. There were over 600 people in attendance, and let me tell you, no detail was missed. They thought of everything, from the glammy elephant on the front lawn, to the specialty desserts displayed on shelves as if they were accessories! I tried not to walk around with my mouth open like a little kid, but I just couldn't believe it!
The most important thing that I needed to remember, was why I was there, because behind all of the glitz and glam, are two very amazing people, Bill and Tani Austin, the founders of Starkey, who continue to travel around the world delivering the gift of hearing to over 1 million people worldwide since 2010. Their goal is to provide 1 million more this decade! Incredible people with huge hearts.
Their mission statement pretty much sums it up: One family. one mission, global impact. This just goes to show that if you have a big enough dream, you can make it happen!!!!
