Midweek Must-Haves/ Travel and Pool side Essentials

The hubby and I are jetting off to Vegas this week for some much needed R&R, and will also be catching up with our dear friends, Pastor Dan and Margaret Hand (shout out to Celebration Church!!), so I thought I would put together a little sampling of my "plane" and "pool" essentials.
On the plane, stay hydrated, drink lots of water, and use facial spray to keep your skin glowing. My go to hand sanitizer is Jao. It has a fresh lavender scent and won't leave your skin feeling dry.
Another item that I consider one of my most important essentials, is airborne. I always take one tablet on the plane. Maybe it's all in my head, but I feel like it's my forcefield for germs.

As for the pool, sunscreen, sunscreen and more sunscreen. A painful sunburn can ruin your vacation, so keep reapplying and put on that fabulous coverup and hat if you feel like you're getting too much sun. Wow! I really sound like my mother(that's not a bad thing). I have her to thank for my beautiful skin.
After sun protection is just as important as prevention, and one of my all time favorites is Solar recovery, which is key if you've had too much sun. I also mix a little bit of sunscreen; spf 15 or 20 in with my body moisturizer for added protection. What's in your summer essentials kit?

I'm really looking forward to a change of scenery for my photos, so stay tuned for some FABulous posts when I return, and don't forget to follow my Vegas adventures on Instagram!

Fab Photo Shoot with Jessica Andersen Part 3

I think everyone should experience a professional photo shoot at least once in their life. Truth be told, I have dreamt about being a model since high school, and now I feel like I'm living that dream through my blog.

I am right where God wants me right now, doing what I love, and hopefully encouraging you to do the same. You are only as old as you feel right? So get out there and start making your dreams a reality, or as one of my favorite fashion blogger's Devon Rachel always says; "Get it girl"!!!

I want to give a huge shout out and thank you to Jessica Anderson for making me feel like a rockstar!!!

This jacket is so versatile, it can be worn casual or dressy. I wore it a lot dressier here, and decided to go with a more casual chic look here.

Fab Photo Shoot with Jessica Andersen Part 2

I promised you more pictures from my photo shoot with Jessica Andersen of Jessica Andersen Photography, and here they are. These were also taken at the Van Vleck House.

It really is all about location, location, location. When you are in the right frame of mind, it definitely comes across in a picture, and Jess knows that. I'm sure that was one of her reasons for picking such a beautiful place. Content, happy, and blessed. What's your frame of mind?

The scenery was breathtaking.  I felt like I had been transported to another place in time.

Fab Photo Shoot with Jessica Andersen Part One

My husband normally takes the photos for my blog, but when my friend, and professional photographer, Jessica Andersen of Jessica Andersen Photography asked me if I would like to do a photo shoot, I jumped at the chance. Ummm. Yes please!!!

She decided on the Van Vleck House for the location. It couldn't have been a more perfect day, with a more beautiful back drop! Jessica definitely helped me channel my inner super model. She has a great eye, and is a lot of fun to work with. I am hoping to convince my husband to let me hire her full time. Don't get me wrong, my husband does a great job, but it's definitely not his favorite thing to do. He does it because he is an awesome guy, and he loves me. (insert romantic sigh here).

Now, about this dress. I will be wearing it next week to a gala that my husband and I are attending. Can you believe I only paid $15 for it? You gotta love Marshall's! I honestly wasn't even looking for a dress, but I always like to check out the clearance rack just in case. It's one of those pieces that makes me feel like a movie star when I'm wearing it, and we all know, when you feel good in an outfit, well, you just feel good! I don't mean to sound material, but fashion really makes me happy. What makes you happy?
